Each fall, the Palm Springs Parks & Recreation Department begins its annual overseeding schedule to keep our city parks healthy, green, and welcoming throughout the cooler months. Overseeding replaces the warm-season Bermuda grass, which naturally goes dormant and turns brown in winter, with a cool-season ryegrass that thrives in lower temperatures. This process not only keeps our parks looking vibrant and inviting year-round, but it also helps maintain durable turf for recreation, sports, and community gatherings.

By investing in overseeding, the department ensures our public spaces remain safe, beautiful, and ready for everyone to enjoy.
